Rachel Hemsley, Global Head of Business Development for XenoGesis, recently returned from a trip to California where she visited biotech hubs across the West Coast, strengthening the company’s relationships in the USA. The trip included visits to San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles and Irvine.
In August, Rachel travelled across California, home to two of the top three biotech hubs in the USA – San Francisco and San Diego. The trip involved meeting with existing and prospective clients, trade organisations and the DiT – a strategic partner to explore expanding activities in these markets.
During the visit, meetings were also held in Los Angeles and Irvine, both of which are currently investing in biotech infrastructure to retain the new innovations and companies that would otherwise be lost to the more established biotech hotspots.
Rachel said: “Last year, 50% of our revenue came from overseas, a trend which is continuing. The US has always been an important international market for XenoGesis, and we have a growing client base across both the East and West Coast. Our focus is to build on this position and continue to increase our presence and profile in the US.”
Plans are now underway for a follow up trip to the West Coast before Christmas, and XenoGesis will be attending the 2020 BIO Conference in San Diego.
